Up and Down

Posted by sohmer on December 22, 2015

Few things get me feeling positive about the future of the human race, and none more so than space exploration.

It’s no secret that I believe that at our core, we as people are explorers. We look out, we look up and we reach. It’s when we stop reaching, stop looking to the stars that we begin to look inward;

And get so mired up in our own shite that we can’t see past our current limitations.

So, when I sat on my iPad last night to watch SpaceX launch a rocket into a space, and then land the first stage of the Falcon 9 on a land pad, it was exhilarating.

It was a moment to be proud of, but more so, it was a reminder and a promise.

A reminder, of what we could do;

A promise, of what we will do.

If you haven’t watched any of the footage yet, I  would highly suggest you do. It’s everywhere on the internet, but a good place to start is SpaceX’s twitter account.

Quote of the Day

“Kids should be allowed to break stuff more often. That’s a consequence of exploration. Exploration is what you do when you don’t know what you’re doing.”
